French soprano Nuada Le Drève is a member of the Opera Studio of the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía in Valencia for the 2024–2026 seasons. Her singing is distinguished by its warmth and flexibility, her ease in the upper register and her particular affinity for the lyric, Mozartian and bel canto repertoire.

Training and artistic development

Originally trained as a violinist, she discovered polyphonic singing through the Cursus Voix programme led by conductor Laura Celeski. In 2018, she graduated with distinction from the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional of Avignon and entered the Haute École de Musique de Lausanne, where she studied with Frédéric Gindraux and Jean-Philippe Clerc and obtained her Master’s degree in 2023.

She further broadened her artistic and linguistic training at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna, studying with Rainer Trost and attending Lied classes with Mathias Lademann and Markus Hadulla.

In April 2024, she took part in the Internationale Meistersinger Akademie (IMA) Master Klass program in Neumarkt, Germany, under the direction of Edith Wiens and Tobias Truniger.

In 2026, she joins the Gstaad Menuhin Festival Academy, directed by Thomas Hampson, with whom she will notably perform in duet alongside internationally renowned artists.

She is currently continuing her technical development with Matthew Rose and María Bayo. She has also benefited from masterclasses and artistic guidance from Thomas Hampson, Francisco Araiza, Jennifer Larmore, Alex Esposito, Carlos Chausson, Hedwig Fassbender, Jeanne-Michèle Charbonnet, Edith Wiens, Christoph Loy, Alexia Cousin, Marie-Claude Chappuis, John Fiore, Myra Huang, Giulio Zappa and Santiago Ballerini, among others.

Operatic and Concert Engagements

Her operatic experience includes Cendrillon in Pauline Viardot’s Cendrillon at the Opéra de Lausanne and the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía, Anna in Verdi’s Nabucco at the Opéra de Lausanne, the Second Lady in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte under Frank Beermann and Pierre Bleuse, the Blue Fairy in Gloria Bruni’s Pinocchio, and the Fiancée in Stravinsky’s Les Noces under Daniel Reuss. She has also appeared in concert and recital at venues including the Opéra de Montpellier and the Grand Théâtre de Genève, and sang for Ramon Gener’s conference at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía, presenting Turandot.

Awards and Distinctions

A laureate of the Leenaards Foundation in 2023, Nuada Le Drève has received several distinctions, including Third Prize at the International Competition for Young Opera Singers in Nîmes, the Young Talent Prize at the International Singing Competition of Béziers, the Young Hope Prize of the Centre Français de Promotion Lyrique in Arles, and a regional finalist distinction at the Voix Nouvelles competition.
